This newly created position at HFMC is designed to create an additional high level of support to our staff, and a higher quality of nursing care to our patients.
Duties:
The Nursing Manager supervises the clinical and patient care delivery and has 24-hour accountability, authority and responsibility of the operations of hospital units. Duties include management of human, fiscal and material resources and implementation of policies, procedures, standards and regulations.
- The Nursing Manger developers and sustains an environment that supports excellence in clinical nursing practice and patient care through planning and implementation of care delivery and performance improvement programs that result in positive patient care outcomes.
- exercises sound judgment when dealing with challenging and stressful situations.
- Establishes and implements goals, objectives and performance standards for nursing units reflective of strategic goals and objectives of HFMC and RHC.
- Assumes leadership roles in interdisciplinary care planning and collaborative efforts focused on individuals and population served.
- Promotes and practices in an environment that foster two-way communication between those in leadership and those providing hands-on care.
- Maintains accountability for daily staffing patterns and appropriate skills mix to support unit's acuity.
- Selects, develops and evaluates staff in order to assure the achievement of organizational goals, quality outcomes and customer satisfaction.
- Collaborates with the Director of Nursing on problems relating to clinical operations; recommends changes in policies to carry out objectives more effectively.
- Monitors the budget evaluation for ares of responsibility to assure financial viability, smooth operations of units and delivery of cost-effective quality patient care. Manages human, fiscal and material resources with an ongoing awareness of health care policies as they effect nursing practice and patient care.

Requirements:
- Supervises a staff of 50-100 individuals, which include RN, PCT, Unit Secretaries
- 5 years experience as an RN showing progressively responsible career advancement.
- Bachelor's Degreed RN
- BLS, RN Illinois State Licensure
- Superior communication skills with all levels of staff, physicians and vendors.
- Understand, articulates and ensures compliance with the national Quality Forum Patient Safety Practices as well as patient safety that may be mandates by any regulatory agency.
